Have you always been thinking about mountains and yourself standing on the top of a peak, surrounded by glaciers and gorgeous ridges? Than this is course for you.

You will learn basic skills on rock and ice that every mountaineer needs to start his first glacier travels or climbing rocky peaks. You will learn how to tie the knots and use the rope on different types of terrain, use different equipment for protection, belaying, ascending and descending.

Goals and objectives of the course
- Tying different knots that can be used in mountaineering.
- Rope management on rock and glacier terrain.
- Using different points of belay and building anchors on rock and ice.
- Belaying. Top rope climbing.
- Ascending and descending on the rope.
- Using crampons and ice axe during a glacier travel.
- Route planning and navigation with the map and compass.
Day by day program
Day 1
Meeting in Bishkek at 8:00 in the morning. Transfer to Ala-Archa National park (2200 m). Going up to Ratzek Hut (3350 m, about 5 hours).
Lectures about dangers in the mountains. Practicing in tying different types of knots to be used in mountaineering.

Day 2
Rock massive near the Ratzek hut.
Points of belay and building anchors. Scrambling through an easy terrain. Top rope belaying and climbing. Descending on the rope.
Navigation in the mountains.

Day 3
Aksai glacier (3800 m, 2 h one way from the hut).
Glacier travel: ice axe & crampons usage, rope management, points of belay and anchors on the ice.

Day 4
Rock massive near Ratzek hut.
Advanced practice on the rocks. More about protection and anchors. Belaying a leader. Leading the climb. Ascending on the rope.

Day 5
Climbing Ratzek peak 3972 m via Southern ridge (PD-).

Day 6
Going down from the Hut to Ala-Archa National park entrace (4 hours). Transfer to Bishkek.

*The schedule can be changed due to safety, weather and group conditions.
Accommodation
Shared room in the Hut.
Full board. If we are far away from the hut (on a glacier, or climbing the peak) - we are going to have lunchboxes.

Please inform if you have any food allergies or preferences (vegan, vegetarian, etc.)
Difficulty and required physical conditions
Difficulty: Medium.

The program requires good physical conditions.
The ascent from National park to the Hut is 6 km long with a vertical gain of 1200 m.
During the program the are the parts of the routes that are going through steep slopes with loose rocks, slabs and glaciers.

The Price includes:
- All planning and organization.
- Transfer by car Bishkek - National park - Bishkek.
- Ecological fees of National Park.
- Overnight stays in a hut, full board and tour tea.
- Guidance and training by qualified mountain guide.

Not in the price:
- Personal insurance (should include mountaineering and helicopter rescue).
- Porters service from Ala-Arch National park to Ratzek hut and back (2,5-3$ per kg).
- Personal expenses (drinks or snacks at the hut).
- Renting of any equipment needed.

The program can be also done for 2 participants. The price per person will be 1280$.
The price for a private course - 2150$.
